About This Program
Many young people in Iganga face unemployment and lack opportunities to generate income. To address this challenge, +256 Youth Platform established a youth economic empowerment program that provides training in entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and financial literacy. The organization runs apprenticeship programs, business incubation hubs, and supports youth-led social enterprises. Through these initiatives, young people receive hands-on training in skills such as agribusiness, digital entrepreneurship, and small-scale manufacturing, enabling them to create sustainable livelihoods.
The program’s objective is to equip youth with marketable skills that enable them to earn a living and contribute to their communities’ economic growth. The program has successfully trained hundreds of youth in various skills, supported startup businesses, and facilitated networking opportunities with business mentors. Through this program, young entrepreneurs have launched businesses in tailoring, agribusiness, and digital marketing, helping to reduce unemployment rates in the region.
