About This Program

Sports and talent development play a significant role in rehabilitating and engaging young people, particularly those at risk of substance abuse and crime. Through its boxing and kickboxing programs, +256 Youth Platform recruits and trains youth from the streets, providing them with discipline, mentorship, and opportunities to compete in national and regional tournaments. The program also fosters artistic talents through music, drama, and edutainment initiatives, using creative arts to spread positive messages on health, governance, and social change.

The objective of this program is to use sports and creative arts as tools for youth empowerment, rehabilitation, and community engagement. The program has successfully produced national-level kickboxers and boxers, some of whom have competed in professional tournaments. Additionally, the organization has recorded over 11 edutainment songs with positive messages, inspiring young people across Uganda. By integrating sports and arts into youth development, +256 Youth Platform has helped many young people discover and develop their talents, ultimately improving their livelihoods.
